USF Health is the partnership of the University of South Florida’s Morsani College of Medicine, as well as USF’s College of Nursing, College of Public Health, College of Pharmacy, School of Biomedical Sciences; School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences; and the USF Physician’s Group. What started as a community medical school, established by the Florida Legislature in 1965, has evolved into a major academic medical center known nationally for its innovative curriculum.
With an emphasis on improving health through interprofessional education, research and clinical activities, USF Health aims to envision and implement the future of health. Breaking the boundaries of traditional healthcare delivery, USF Health has created a system where healthcare providers, researchers and educators don’t work alone. At USF Health, doctors, nurses, physical therapists, pharmacists, researchers and public health scientists work together to create a community of good health. The Morsani College of Medicine is one of the first medical schools in the country where students from different disciplines learn side by side. USF Health recognizes that tomorrow’s doctors need to be able to not only empathize with patients, but work well with other healthcare professionals on their patients’ teams.
To ensure that learning continues after graduation, USF Health has built the new Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS) in downtown Tampa. This $30 million facility is a place where working health professionals can continue to learn the latest technology – to have their skills tested to make sure they’re performing intricate surgeries and other critical tasks correctly.
Housed within a 90,000 square foot, state-of-the-art, three-story facility is every possible form of health professional education and training, for individuals and teams. CAMLS integrates simulation technology, aviation science, team training and evidence-based best practices into innovative programs with measurable outcomes. Its purpose is to move the latest advances in healthcare into practice, and it is setting the standard for how working health professionals learn.
USF Health has partnered with Bisk to develop and deliver in-demand healthcare graduate programs 100% online.
